2020 Holiday Gift Guide for Beauty Lovers

30 gift ideas for her (or him) or anyone who loves beauty! My holiday gift guide includes options for every budget, from under $25 to over $100. And I’ll also be linking to places to buy them — besides Amazon– because as convenient as Amazon is, its ethics aren’t the best. So this holiday season, remember to shop small and support local and Black-owned brands when possible. While many of my recommendations are from larger brands, I tried to mix in a few from smaller brands too, so be sure to check those ones out!

Budget: $25 and Under

For the 90’s Baby: Caboodle ($20)

For many, the caboodle brings back the nostalgia of childhood in the 90’s. But it’s also a practical way to store and transport your cosmetics! They come in a number of fun colors, so you’re sure to find a good one. Bonus points it you also fill it with skincare or makeup gifts!

For the Self-Care Lover: Bath Bomb Gift Set ($21)

Who doesn’t love a bath bomb? They’re a great way to make bath time a more relaxing and sensual experience. So give the gift of relaxation this holiday season — we could all use it after 2020!

For the Skincare Minimalist: The Ordinary The Balance Set ($23)

Gifting skincare items can be tricky, which is why I tend to recommend sets — that way there will probably be at least one item that the recipient likes! The Ordinary has a few different sets containing some of their best sellers, all with great ingredients and at reasonable prices!

For the Romantic: Goddess Candle ($19+)

You may have seen these “naked lady” candles popping up on Instagram lately. They are trending at the moment, and for a good reason — they’re absolutely gorgeous! I have 3 from Drop Dead Candles on Etsy, and I’d highly recommend purchasing from them — or support a local brand if you can find one that makes them.

For the Responsible One: Silk Face Masks ($15+)

Masks might not be the most exciting gift, but it’s something we could all use right now. (Reminder to stay safe this holiday season!) Silk adds a bit of luxury to these masks, and they’re also supposed to be gentler on the skin; they may even help prevent the dreaded maskne (acne from wearing a mask)! There are many options available on Etsy.

For the One Who Likes Long Routines: Jade or Quartz Roller and Gua Sha ($20)

There are lots of places that you can buy jade rollers now and they are available at many different price points. I see them at CVS, at Target, and on Amazon. But if possible, I would recommend buying your jade roller from a local or small retailer, such as this Etsy shop.

For the CBD Enthusiast: Kayaire Skincare* ($18+)

Kayaire Skincare is small black-owned brand that I had the pleasure of discovering this year. Their products all contain CBD as well as some other great ingredients. I highly recommend their exfoliating toner, face wash, and moisturizing cream, though I’d probably pass on the scrub.

Budget: $25 to $50

For the Haircare Fiend: Briogeo Merry Multi-Masking Set* ($36)

This iconic gift set contains the adorable Briogeo Honey Bear mask! It’s sure to make anyone squeal from its cuteness. But it’s not just cute, it’s also an amazing hair mask that leaves the hair soft, strengthened, and more manageable.

For the One Who Likes to Smell the Roses: Ouai Melrose Place Eau de Parfum and Body Creme Kit ($45)

Ouai is a popular hair and body care brand that is available at Sephora. I haven’t smelled these myself, but according to reviews, the fragrance is amazing. Honestly, I think that almost anything from Ouai would make a great gift!

For the Hand Cream Collector: La Chatelaine Hand Cream Trio * ($28)

La Chatelaine makes great 20% shea butter hand creams, they’re even on the list of Oprah’s favorite things. They come in a wide variety of scents, and if you buy a trio, it comes in a beautiful flowery tin — it’s almost a shame to wrap it up as a gift!

For the KBeauty Fan: Belif Moisture Festival Set* ($38)

This set contains some of my favorite products from Belif: the Moisturizing Bomb (read my review of this here), Moisturizing Eye Bomb, and the Aqua Bomb Jelly Cleanser (as well as a mini toner which is so-so, in my opinion). But it’s a great way to try these products at a great price, since the Moisturizing Bomb alone is $38.

For the Lip Balm Fanatic: Fresh Sugar Lips Bestsellers Tin ($45)

Fresh Lip Balms are the best. Period. This set contains 5 mini balms (the minis are still a pretty good size) so it’s a great way to try a few different ones! This could also be an awesome (and luxurious) stocking stuffer. Tbh, I don’t think you can go wrong with most products from Fresh.

For the Matcha Lover: Golde Make Your Matcha Kit ($45)

Golde is a black-owned brand that offers both wellness and beauty products. Their matcha and turmeric lattes are supposed to be amazing! The matcha kit would be a great gift as it comes with the matcha powder as well as a beautiful bamboo whisk. It’s perfect for those who those who are more into holistic beauty from the inside out.

For the One Who’s Tried it All: Love Notes Self-Ish Body Teas ($32)

Love Notes is another small black-owned brand that I discovered this year. They make beautiful scented candles but they also have these very interesting Body Teas. I haven’t actually tried them yet, but I am very intrigued. They sound like a luxurious spa experience for your bath. I also don’t know of anyone who has tried a body tea so it would definitely be a fun and unique gift!

Budget: $100 and Under

For the Beach Bum: Sol de Janeiro Wild Extravaganza Set ($62)

This set includes the famous Bum Bum cream, as well as a body wash, lip butter, and hair and body mist. Almost everyone seems to love the iconic Sol de Janeiro fragrance, and what’s even better is that Sol de Janeiro is making donations to the Rainforest Action Network for each set purchased.

For the Trendy One: Diptyque Candle* ($68+)

Diptyque has to be the favored candle brand for beauty lovers. The packaging is beautifully minimal and the scents are divine. Their limited edition 2020 holiday candles are also currently available. With all the different fragrance options, there’s something for every taste.

For the Multi-tasker: Amika Blow Dryer Brush ($100)

Available alone or in a set with a couple of other Amika styling products, this 2 in 1 blow dryer brush claims to decrease your styling time and double your hair’s shine. While I haven’t tried it myself, the many glowing reviews have convinced me that it would make a great gift!

For the Art Lover: NEST Eau de Parfum ($74)

NEST makes all things fragrance, from candles to diffusers, to perfumes. All of these would make great gifts, but I think that the perfumes stand out especially because the bottles are just so gorgeous. Each scent (and its packaging) is inspired by the works of an 18th Century British artist, Mrs. Mary Delany. The 1.7 oz size goes for $74, but there is also a pricier 3.4 oz bottle.

For the Aesthetic Soul: Herbivore Jewel Box ($58)

Unfortunately, this mini facial oil recently came back into stock, so if you can get your hands on it, I’d highly recommend it! Alternatively, Herbivore offers a couple of other gift sets that are sure to please clean beauty fans who have an eye for beautiful packaging.

For the Classy Traveler: Truffle Co Clarity Jet Set Case ($88)

While, we might not be travelling much these days, we can still dream of it! This luxurious travel cosmetics case will look gorgeous in your suitcase, when it is eventually put to use.

For your Honey: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil ($87)

Perhaps one of the most aesthetic products on the planet, Gisou’s hair oil is sure to be pleasing to the eye as well as to your hair! While the full size will run you $87 (!) it is also available in a travel-sized version for $46 that is still decently large.

For the Skincare Addict: Makeup Fridge ($80)

While no one really NEEDS a skincare/makeup fridge, every skincare lover secretly wants one (I think). They may seem silly, but they can actually help your products last longer. And the cooling sensation of a chilled product is wonderful, especially in warmer weather! This particular one has great reviews, but there are cheaper options available from other brands.

For the Sensual One: Otherland Candles Gilded Holiday Collection ($89)

Otherland has some of the best seasonal candles. Their core collection is lovely as well (Daybed is my favorite), but this year’s Holiday Collection is truly beautiful and would be an awesome way to create a cozy holiday atmosphere.

Budget: $100 and Over

For the Parisian at Heart: Diptyque Eau de Toilette* ($140)

I know I already mentioned Diptyque candles, but I had to include their eau de toilette too. My personal favorite is Eau Rose, which is a beautiful and sophisticated rose scent. Doson is another lovely floral perfume, though they also have options for those who prefer fresh, woody, or other scents.

For the Timeless Beauty: Sulwhasoo Cult Classics Set* ($175)

Sulwhasoo is a luxury Kbeauty brand that is now easily available in the US through retailers such as Nordstrom and Sephora. This set contains two of their bestsellers. All of their products have an herbal ginseng-y scent that can take some getting used to. But some people really love it, and personally I don’t mind it at all, especially considering how good the products are.

For the Elegant Lounger: Silk Robe ($248)

A silk robe is the perfect accessory for a lazy Sunday of selfcare and nothing else. If you want to give the gift of elegance and luxury this holiday season, a silk robe is a wonderful option.

For the Face Mask Addict: I’m From Wash-Off Mask Bundle ($101)

I’m From is a Kbeauty brand that specializes in the transparent use of natural ingredients. This gift set includes three of their best-selling masks, the Mugwort Mask, Honey Mask, and Rice Mask. These are wash-off masks, which are really fun to use and are also a more environmentally-friendly alternative to sheet masks.

For the Sleeping Beauty: Silk Pillowcase and Sleep Mask ($122)

As you may be noticing, silk is a beauty lover’s best friend. Not only does it look and feel incredibly luxurious, but it’s also supposed to be gentler on your hair and skin. It may help the skin maintain moisture and prevent hair breakage! What’s not to love (except the price)?

For the Sensitive One: Oui the People The Sensitive Set ($125)

Oui the People is a luxury black-owned brand that specializes in shaving and body care. They make the most beautiful gold and rose gold safety razors. This set also comes with Sugarcoat, their shave gel-to-milk. They have a few other sets or you could just go for one of their luxurious bath and body products.

For the Skincare Newbie: Youth to the People Youth Regimen Kit ($180)

Want to gift someone a whole skincare routine that they’re (almost) guaranteed to love? Well, Youth to the People has you covered. They have three complete sets, each one for a different skin type. With all the positive reviews (and the sustainable packaging), it’s hard to go wrong with this brand.
